Uses of the Verb Tener

This lesson will teach the proper use of the verb “Tener”, which means To Have and To Be. (Tener is one of the 5 forms of the verb To Be). You will have a basic idea of the most common usage of this verb.

Tener: to have/ to be

Yo tengo (I have/ am)
Tú tienes (You-informal-have/ are)
Él  tiene (He has/ is)
Ella tiene (She has/ is) 
Usted tiene (You –formal- have/ are)
Nosotros tenemos (We have/ are)
Vosotros tenéis (You-informal plural- have/ are) 
Ellos tienen (They have/ are)
Ellas tienen (They-feminine-have/ are)
Ustedes tienen (You-plural-have/ are)
